Objective:

The aim of this panel discussion is to outline how the Economy for the Common Good (ECG) initiative is applied in businesses and entire regions such as South Tyrol in Italy. We will hear from business leaders why they decided to be part of the ECG initiative and how they are implementing ECG in their business operations. We will discuss the challenges, opportunities and outcomes of adopting an ECG approach at a local or regional level such as South Tyrol, which involves municipalities, businesses, schools and families. We will explore the added value of the ECG approach in addition to other reporting initiatives and CSR standards. We will discuss what lessons can be learned from this process and in particular the role of the business community in making an ECG initiative work and being part of shifting the economic system.
